The Pezzo brand extension and wordmark have been developed with 50’s Rome as the inspiration along with the merging of Italian and Melbourne cultures. The word Pezzo means ‘piece’ in Italian and is Melbourne’s piece of Italy in a 48 hour fermented dough and is a celebration of this delicious new food offer to Australia. The patterns and collages have all been created from and pay homage to the materials, textures, terrazzo and tiling ‘pieces’ found in Rome. The photography collage was born from the concept of the Pezzo and is an interpretation or depiction of people’s heads filling with ingredients. Same goes with the custom created packaging that has you take a bite out of the characters head! The characters are intentional kitsch, silly and play on the cheesiness of the 1950s.

This specialist organic grocer is a thriving hub for amazing coffee, produce and groceries in the heart of Southbank. After building this successful business on a makeshift logo, they identified the need to establish a distinctive brand identity that could hold them strong, not just for the future of this store but for the future and possible expansion. This industry demands approachability, friendliness, freshness and earthiness. What this new brand identity delivers alongside all of this however is sophistication and refinement to counter balance the stereotype organic feel. The beautiful angle stripe is now an icon in the hands of Southbank locals.

Territory Melbourne Coffee

Territory Melbourne Coffee was born through a collaboration between Guy Grossi and Small Batch Roasting Co. Red Robyn were engaged by Grossi to develop this new brand and establish it as one that sits amongst Melbourne’s coffee elite as an accessible everyday luxury for coffee enthusiasts worldwide who appreciates – and are excited by – our renowned coffee culture. The shape of the graphic extension is based on the map of Melbourne’s inner city suburbs with illustrations that define the individual territories. The stylized and abstract illustration plays on the shapes found in the architecture and landmarks within the corresponding suburbs. The eclectic mix of shapes and patterns portray Melbourne as a melting pot of cultures.

BHB teaches pregnant woman and birthing partners hypnobirthing skills and techniques for a calm, positive, fulfilling and informed birth. BHB’s branding epitomises this through a bold, vibrant, clean and confident brand that steers away from the stereotypical, holistic style often connected to this type of industry. It is targeted at the modern woman and the logo mark cleverly unites the heart, a pregnant belly and the letter ‘b’. It is softened with beautiful black and white photography to ensure relatedness and the crucial emotional connection.

The Flora brand encapsulates the style, sophistication, femininity and beauty of this unique development for BPM. With kitchens designed by renowned chef Guy Grossi and a price point of $2M+ per apartment the brand had to present with sophistication, prestige and modernity in order to support the cutting-edge architecture, interiors and Bayside locale. BPM won an international design award for this project in 2011/2012.
